What a great barn find this 1964 Citroen HY type 72!
A complete project, what are you going to make of it? A food truck, camper or advertising vehicle?
Or do you restore it to the original? Or just as an eye-catcher in your company or store?
Plenty of possibilities!
The Citroen is clearly in need of a restoration, but an important detail is the engine running and the car shifting. Furthermore, everything must of course be tackled as you can clearly see in the photos.
The Citroen HY type 72 in general:
The Citroën H Van, Citroën HY or Citroën Type H – as the original French name is – is a Citroën van that was produced between 1947 and 1982.
With its characteristic ‘corrugated iron body’, the HY was a well-known appearance in Europe. The car remained virtually unchanged in production for 34 years, a record for a van.
The design of the HY is based on the self-supporting body.
The HY has appeared in many hundreds of variants. As a camper, catering sales car, pick-up, horse transporter etc.
