wheel drive passenger car. In France it is called the 4L (pronounced \”Quatrelle\” or \”Quatre ailes\”, meaning \”four wings\”).
In 1948 Renault\’s major competitor Citroën came onto the market with the 2CV. Renault had to respond to this, but in the meantime was also able to study the strengths and weaknesses of the 2CV. In the spring of 1956, Renault director Pierre Dreyfus started a project for a car that would be larger than the 2CV and more suitable for urban use. The new car was to succeed the rear-wheel drive Renault 4CV. It had to be suitable for everyone: a family car, a car for women, for farmers, for the city.
It was not until 1961 that the Renault 4 was presented at the Salon de l\’Automobile in Paris, in the Luxury (L) version, hence the common name 4L in France.
The Renault 4 offered here is from 1984 and comes from France.
A nice Renault 4 which, with some technical work, is completely ready to tour extensively. The car has been thoroughly addressed both on the outside and in the interior in the past. A nice car which is in a drivable condition, but with the remark that there are some works before you can enjoy touring “la douce france”.
